Over 1,700 runners took on the grueling course at Soda Springs' Kelly Park on Saturday, showing everyone that cross country has some of the toughest athletes around.

    GRACE — The sun starts to set at Grace High School as their varsity football team takes the field with farmland and mountains as the backdrop. Students from GHS along with friends and family of the team start to file into the bleachers to watch the Grizzlies play their Friday night homecoming football game against the visiting Murtaugh Red Devils. In the end, the Grace football team delivered a victory fitting for homecoming, defeating Murtaugh by more than 20 points.

    SODA SPRINGS — As the fall breeze starts to crisp the air in Southeast Idaho, excitement builds as cross country season is back in action. For a number of schools that means the Cardinal Classic is around the corner. Soda Springs boasts one of the toughest cross country courses in the state that was created and built by Soda Springs High School cross country coach Jeff Horsley. Horsley was the one who pushed for a cross country team to be offered while he attended Soda Springs High School.
