Tanner Scott struck out three in a scoreless ninth to get a save Wednesday versus the Rockies. Scott did allow a hit, so it’s up to others to determine whether he struck out the side. Whether he did or not, it’s as good as Scott has looked as a Dodger, and he threw 11-of-11 pitches for strikes; impressive regardless, but especially for a pitcher who sometimes has issues with control. Scott should continue to see plenty of save chances for this loaded Dodgers’ club.

+ Top 100 RP rankings for Saves + Holds leagues in 2024. Jason Adam, Lake Bachar, Anthony Bender, Hunter Bigge, Lucas Erceg, Ryan Helsley, Tanner Scott, and Blake Treinen all had three SV+HLDs this past week. Bachar is the name that sticks out as the most surprising, but the 29 year old rookie isn’t on the fantasy radar this year or next. Helsley continues to build his lead and should finish the season with the most saves (and most SV+HLD’s).

Emmanuel Clase, Bryan Abreu, Lucas Erceg, Tanner Scott, and Devin Williams all had three SV+HLDs this past week, with Clase picking up 4 (in four consecutive days). Mostly the usual suspects here, with two of the top closers in baseball, a top set-up man in Abreu, and two of the more coveted relievers at the deadline in Scott and Erceg.

+ Top 100 RP rankings for Saves + Holds leagues in 2024. Daniel Hudson, Tanner Scott, Carlos Estévez, Calvin Faucher, and Kyle Finnegan all had three SV+HLDs this past week with Hudson and Scott racking up four each. Hudson is likely the main beneficiary of Evan Phillips being removed as the full time closer, with Hudson seeing consistent high leverage work. Scott has been lights out lately, not allowing a hit over his past 11.2 IP and is certainly upping his trade value.

+ Ranking baseball's closers for the 2024 season Jhoan Duran, Evan Phillips, and Pete Fairbanks are three closers I had as elite or near elite heading into the season who have really failed to prove they belong in the top two tiers, especially as of late. Now they have each spent time on the IL at some point this season, so that certainly could be a factor, but either way, they just haven’t lived up to expectations.

+ Top 100 RP rankings for Saves + Holds leagues in 2024. Emmanuel Clase, Ryan Helsley, JoJo Romero, Tanner Scott, and Cade Smith each had three SV+HLDs this past week. It’s good to see Scott in this group finally, as he now has a 1.54 ERA and 1.17 WHIP on the season with 11 saves. He may be the best reliever actually available at the deadline this year, and no matter where he lands, should see high-leverage work with his new team.

+ Top 100 RP rankings for Saves + Holds leagues in 2024. Jason Adam, Phil Maton and Gregory Soto each had three SV+HLD’s this past week. Adam and Maton got in some extra work with Pete Fairbanks unable to pitch in Colorado this past weekend, and while the command issues for Maton are a concern right now, I’d expect him to figure things out given his track record.
