    On May 3rd the last original member of the Pepperdine Beacon’s staff graduated. Riley Benedict was a Sports Medicine major and plans to attend Physician Assistant school after working the requisite number of medical hours to qualify. Her story with the Beacon began in high school where she ran all Beacon social media. She joined in 2020 to preserve the Christian mission and free speech at her dream school and for her brother who needed all the help he could get.

    The Sudreau Global Justice Institute is an organization based out of Pepperdine’s Caruso School of Law that seeks to end systemic injustice globally and equip students and practicing attorneys to aid in that cause. Beginning in 2009, the SGJI has enjoyed a long-standing memorandum of understanding with the Ugandan Judiciary that allows both parties to partner together to implement plea bargaining for prisoners throughout the nation. The Prison Project is one of their most ambitious initiatives.

In Loper Bright Enterprises v. Raimondo (decided June 28, 2024) the Supreme Court found that the Court’s 1984 ruling in Chevron U.S.A. Inc v. NRDC violated the Administrative Procedure Act of 1946 (APA) and ultimately the framers’ intent for the U.S. Constitution.
