"It's pretty fast and cool downhills; it's a lot of fun," said Nick Wideman. The NorCal Interscholastic Cycling League starts its season at Fort Ord every year because the course handles rain well and has plenty of space.

    The Food Bank for Monterey County was the place to be Saturday morning. Christmas music was on blast and the warehouse floor was bustling with volunteers packing meal kits for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday. "We have to pack 25,000 pozole kits and 25,000 traditional holiday meals so that takes an army of people," said Food Bank executive director Melissa Kendrick. The army of people was there on Saturday, about 200 of them, all volunteers with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
