Jennifer Edwards, the new executive director of the Big Sur International Marathon, is preparing for the race set for April 27.Edwards, who previously ran a race organization in Falmouth, Massachusetts, took over after former Executive Director Josh Priester left suddenly for family reasons. She had been on the job for just five weeks. "A whirlwind, yes, I finished with the Falmouth Road Race on a Friday, and I got on a plane on Saturday. I moved in on Sunday and I started work on Monday.

She'll still be on the board and active in ocean conservation. Under Packard's leadership, the aquarium has grown into a conservation force, boasting many successes, including the iconic sea otter program.
