All the models on the runway are survivors, making it an emotional event for both the models and their families. This year, one of the stars of the show was a little girl with a big personality. Jennifer Edwards, the new executive director of the Big Sur International Marathon, is preparing for the race set for April 27.Edwards, who previously ran a race organization in Falmouth, Massachusetts, took over after former Executive Director Josh Priester left suddenly for family reasons. She had been on the job for just five weeks. "A whirlwind, yes, I finished with the Falmouth Road Race on a Friday, and I got on a plane on Saturday. I moved in on Sunday and I started work on Monday.

Julie Packard, the longtime CEO of the Monterey Bay Aquarium, recently announced her retirement, though she will remain on the board and continue her work in ocean conservation. She'll still be on the board and active in ocean conservation. Under Packard's leadership, the aquarium has grown into a conservation force, boasting many successes, including the iconic sea otter program. The heartbreaking sound of a young otter pup crying for his mom is a familiar scene at the aquarium.
