The Big Sur International Marathon is under new leadership this year with an all-women executive team, marking a significant shift in its management. Mimi Hahn, soon to be chairman of the foundation board, Michelle La Salla, the race director in charge of logistics, and Jennifer Edwards, the new executive director, are leading the event. "The race operation industry has been male-heavy for years, but it is growing with females finding their way to the top," said Michelle La Salla.

The countdown is on for the Big Sur International Marathon, set to take place on Sunday, where thousands of runners will navigate 26.2 miles from Big Sur to Carmel. At the finish line, crews are busy constructing Marathon Village. The tents are up, and by Sunday, it will be fully fleshed out and ready to welcome the runners home, something Tom Rolander has experienced many times. Tom Rolander has run the Big Sur Marathon 34 times.
