    A Waterford man has been ordered to pay €3,500 for carrying out an unprovoked assault on a young man. Caedyn Keating (19), of Oakwood, Cork Road, Waterford city, appeared at Waterford District Court of Appeal before Judge Eugene O'Kelly. The court heard that on a night in late November 2023, Keating punched another young man in an unprovoked manner on The Quays, striking him several times in the face. The injured party suffered a swollen nose and two black eyes. His face was covered in blood.

    A man stole €900 in cash, jewellery and a car key from a woman's Waterford home under the guise of being a "handyman". 40-year-old Grzegorz Przybylak, of Mount Suir Manor, Waterford City, appeared at Waterford District Court of Appeal before Judge Eugene O'Kelly. Gardaí said that on November 23, 2024, Przybylak stole from a woman's house in the city. The woman had hired him as a handyman. Gardaí were quickly able to apprehend the accused.

    A Kilkenny man has been ordered to pay a fine of €2,200 and to stay off the roads for two years after being convicted of drink driving on the N25. Adam Connolly, of The Avenue, Cappagh, Gaulsmills, Kilmacow, Co Kilkenny, appeared at Waterford District Court of Appeal to contest the conviction. Judge Eugene O'Kelly heard from State Solicitor Frank Hutchinson about the circumstances leading up to the defendant's conviction by the District Court.
