Parking issues continue to plague Gorse Hill, according to local Councillor Declan Barry (Independent). He said at the recent Metro meeting: "It still hasn't been resolved. I asked last month would a Council official come and engage with the residents and it seems to have fallen on deaf ears."He continued: "I'm asking once again, will an official from the Council come and speak to the residents and see how this issue can be resolved because it ain't going to resolve itself.

A 13-year-old Mount Sion student is in the battle of his young life after suffering a terrifying health ordeal. Lorek O'Keefe fell ill on May 18 and was rushed to University Hospital Waterford (UHW) with severe chest pain and no movement in his left leg. After a CT scan and blood tests, doctors discovered an aortic dissection, or tear in the main artery (aorta) of his heart. Last week, Lorek underwent a life-saving 15-hour heart surgery at CHI Crumlin.

Staff at Supervalu Hypercentre have gone above and beyond to help a Waterford family in need. Nicola and Adam Doyle were on a holiday of a lifetime in California with their three young children when Adam suffered a terrible accident. He was a patient at the Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose and needed emergency surgery to remove two discs from his neck. The family are facing financial difficulties as Adam recuperates. The accident has drained their finances.

Construction has come to a standstill at the Strand Hill apartment blocks, according to a local Councillor. At a recent meeting, Councillor Blaise Hannigan said that works had stopped at the development a few weeks ago. He stated: "On the Strand Hill apartment block, work has stopped for over the last several weeks. Is there any objection to the building in the area?"He added: "This apartment block, I believe, is for social housing, so it's important that we have that in Tramore.
