A woman in her 30s has been seriously injured following a collision between a car and a pedestrian on the N76 at Westcourt Demesne, Callan, Co. Kilkenny. The incident occurred shortly before 9pm on Friday, March 28. Emergency services attended the scene, and the pedestrian was taken to St Luke’s Hospital in Kilkenny for treatment. No other injuries were reported. The road remains closed for a forensic examination by Garda investigators, with local diversions in place.

A man has been arrested following the discharge of a firearm in Killargue, Co Leitrim, on Friday, March 7. Leitrim gardaí responded to an emergency call at a residential property in Killargue on Friday afternoon, with the armed support unit also attending the scene. At around 3.20pm, following an intervention by the armed support unit—including the use of a taser—the man was arrested outside the residence, and a firearm was seized.

An investigation is under way after a pupil at a primary school in Dublin was injured in a suspected stabbing attack. Gardaí believe the attack was carried out by another pupil at the school and have sealed off the area for a full investigation. The boy, aged 11, has been taken from the school to hospital for treatment, where his injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.
