Happy Monday! Our weather pattern this week looks pretty pleasant through the majority of the week. Temperatures are slightly below average in the low 80s for the afternoon and then below average at night with lows dropping to the upper 50s through the work week. Winds will bring a nice breeze out of the NW. It will feel like a fall teaser for the first half of the week. Expect plenty of sunshine during the day and mostly clear skies at night.

(KFVS) - Happy Friday! This afternoon is another hot and humid one...expect feels like temperatures in the triple digits. Isolated storm chances linger today and tomorrow. A cold front will slowly move through by tomorrow which will help cool us down for the second half of the weekend. There is a chance for a few isolated severe storms on Saturday afternoon/evening. Gusty winds and heavy rainfall remain the biggest threat. Most of the Heartland is looking dry through for the next couple of days.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - Good afternoon, most of the Heartland is dry right now with partly sunny skies. A complex of storms over SW MO will slowly push east eventually clipping parts of SE MO later this afternoon and evening. This afternoon will still feel slightly cool with highs in the mid 80s. Rain chances are expected to increase tonight into Wednesday and especially Thursday gradually. Currently, storm chances seem the greatest over SE MO today through tomorrow morning.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - Happy Monday! We are kicking off the work week with very hot and humid temperatures. Today and tomorrow will be the hottest days of the week with tomorrow potentially being the hottest day so far this summer. Expect high temps in the upper 90s with lots of sunshine. A front will move through tomorrow evening bringing relief in the heat and humidity. It is a relativity dry front...so not expecting much precip ahead of it.

Good afternoon, another round of scattered showers and storms is possible throughout the day. Not everyone will see rain because most of these storms will be small but they will be capable of producing brief heavy downpours. Once the sun goes down that will limit our storm development, leading to party cloudy skies this evening. Spot showers and storms will persist through the rest of the week.

Good afternoon, watch for scattered showers and storm development through the late afternoon. Peak heating hours will be the driving force for the storms to initiate. Daily isolated rain chances are in the forecast for the next few days, although most of us will not see rain every day. Temperatures will remain slightly cooler than average with highs in the mid-80s through the rest of the work week. Still expect those dew points in the upper 60s and low 70s making it feel sticky outdoors.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - Happy Monday! A Heat Advisory will remain in effect throughout today and tomorrow. Heat index values range from 100 to 110. Tomorrow will be another very hot and humid day before we start to see relief on Wednesday. A cold front arriving late tomorrow will bring a few strong thunderstorms, along with heavy downpours during tomorrow afternoon and evening. Activity will increase overnight on Tuesday into Wednesday morning.

NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the 2024 NCAA Division II all-academic team and individual honors on Monday, July 15, 2024. Both the Cardinal men's and women's track and field teams earned the overall team all-academic award. The men compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.2, while the women's team registered a 3.46.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - Good evening, a few scattered storms are still making their way across the Heartland but most of us are dry. Temperatures this evening will drop to the low 70s with partly cloudy skies. There is a slight chance for pop-up showers and storms tomorrow morning before the sunshine comes out and about. An isolated pop-up storm is possible during the peak heating hours tomorrow afternoon too. Besides the slight storm chances, most of the weekend will be dry but very hot.

Good afternoon, we are under mostly sunny skies with temperatures reaching the upper 80s to low 90s. Later this afternoon and evening scattered showers and storms are possible mainly over SO IL and parts of SE MO. Besides those few storms that find enough energy to form, most of the Heartland will stay dry for the next several days. An isolated shower is possible through Friday but our main concern tomorrow will be areas of patchy fog during the morning and evening.
