SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Saginaw Valley State University men's cross country team finished 17th as a team in the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships on Saturday afternoon in Sacramento, California. The Cardinals compiled a total of 528 points to finish nine spots higher than last season and match the mark the team reached in 2022. Nicholas McArdle was the top finisher for SVSU as he crossed the finish line in 30 minutes and 55.9 seconds to place 62nd in the individual standings.

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The Saginaw Valley State University cross country teams competed in the NCAA Division II Midwest Region Championships on Saturday. The Cardinal men scored 171 points to place fourth while the women tallied 305 points for 10th. Jacob Walker led the men's team with a PR of 31 minutes, 18.7 seconds which had him finish 13th in the individual standings. Nick McArdle crossed the finish line at 31:45.3 to place 27th, a PR for him in a cross country 10K.

EAST LANSING, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University cross country teams competed at the Auto-Owners Spartan Invitational hosted by Michigan State University on Friday. Both teams finished third in the race with the men scoring 80 points while the women's team finished with 118. Jack Lobodzinski led the way for the Cardinal men with a top-20 finish after placing 13th with a time of 25 minutes, 13.4 seconds.

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announced the 2024 Men's and Women's Cross Country Preseason Coaches Poll on Thursday (August 29) afternoon. The Cardinal men accumulated one first-place vote to finish with 73 points and capture the runner-up position behind Grand Valley State who collected the other nine first-place votes to finish eight points ahead of SVSU.

NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the 2024 NCAA Division II all-academic team and individual honors on Monday, July 15, 2024. Both the Cardinal men's and women's track and field teams earned the overall team all-academic award. The men compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.2, while the women's team registered a 3.46.
