NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the 2024 NCAA Division II all-academic team and individual honors on Monday, July 15, 2024. Both the Cardinal men's and women's track and field teams earned the overall team all-academic award. The men compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.2, while the women's team registered a 3.46.

EMPORIA, KAN. – The Saginaw Valley State University track and field representatives at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships had a phenomenal day. The outing was highlighted by senior Cheyenne Nesbitt who made history as she won her fourth-straight National Championship in the Heptathlon with a school record score of 6002. Nesbitt is the first woman in NCAA history, in any division, to win four consecutive heptathlon titles.

EMPORIA, KAN. – Three Saginaw Valley State University outdoor track and field records were broken on day one of the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday. Cheyenne Nesbitt got the day started by setting records in the 100m hurdles and the high jump portion of the Heptathlon. Her time of 13.09 in the 100 hurdles was enough to win the race, while her high jump height of 1.78m earned her second. She threw the shot put 13.72m to finish first.

INDIANAPOLIS – Nine student-athletes from Saginaw Valley State University qualified for the 2024 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships when the performers were announced on Tuesday night. Dominic Suliman and Ryan Brenner will represent the men's team in two events, while Cassie Campbell, Angelina Delbosque, Trinity Greer, Alexa Keiser, Cheyenne Nesbitt, Alona Olshevska, and Sophia Thelen qualified for five individual events and two relays.

ALLENDALE, MICH. – The Saginaw Valley State University track and field team claimed two GLIAC Outdoor titles after the second day of the conference championship meet. The women's team currently sits second in the team standings with 30 points while the men are fourth with 35. Cheyenne Nesbitt led the way with a win in the long jump after a mark of 6.12m. Nesbitt also had the top time in the 100 hurdles preliminaries with her time of 13.25 seconds.

PITTSBURG, Kan. – The 2024 NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field National Championships wrapped on Saturday with six members of the Saginaw Valley State University track and field team competing. Dominic Suliman highlighted day two for the Cardinals as he earned three points toward the men's team total when he was crowned All-America in the mile with a sixth-place finish after a time of 4:19.93. Ryan Brenner completed the men's heptathlon in 11th with a total score of 5,135.

PITTSBURG, Kan. – Four of the eight members of the Saginaw Valley State University track and field team competed on the opening day of the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field National Championships. Ryan Brenner sits in 10th after the first day of the men's heptathlon with a score of 2,964 points after four events. He currently trails the leader by 384 points with three events to go tomorrow.

INDIANAPOLIS – The NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships take place in Pittsburg, Kansas on March 8-9. Eight student-athletes from Saginaw Valley State University were listed among the 540 qualifiers announced on Tuesday afternoon. Dominic Suliman and Ryan Brenner will represent the men's team in three events, and Alona Olshevska, Alexa Keiser, Trinity Greer, Cassandra Campbell, Sophia Thelen, and Cheyenne Nesbitt will represent the women in six events.

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University track and field team completed the annual two-day Jet's Pizza Invitational on Saturday evening. Alona Olshevska highlighted the weekend's performances by breaking her own school record in the 200m by .11 seconds with her winning time of 24.14 seconds. Ryan Brenner was the top performer on the men's side as he won the heptathlon with a final tally of 5243.

NEW ORLEANS – The Saginaw Valley State University men's and women's track & field team earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team award. The men had a cumulative GPA of 3.037 while the women finished with a 3.263 team GPA to earn the award. For a team to make the list it must obtain a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA for all student-athletes on the institution's roster for indoor and/or outdoor track and field.
