When babies cannot receive their own mother's milk, donor human milk (DHM) may protect premature infant health and development, reducing the risk of necrotizing enterocolitis and other complications such as bronchopulmonary dysplasia (Quigley et al., 2019; Villamor-Martínez et al., 2018).
