With potentially two rounds of strong storms Monday, Memorial Day is a First Alert Weather Day!We’ll need to make some adjustments to the timing of Monday’s showers and storms over the coming days, but the traditional severe weather players will be back!Any storms that form Monday may contain large hail and strong wind gusts bringing Central Texas under a level 2 severe weather risk, which is a 15% chance of seeing severe weather.

The unseasonable heat and humidity building across the region over the last few days will help to bring Central Texas a few days of severe storm opportunities. Although storm chances may not be terribly high, a few strong storms are possible Friday and are likely on Saturday. Both Friday and Saturday are First Alert Weather Days.

Scattered shower and thunderstorm chances return for Monday, but we don’t expect strong storms out of this activity. Our strong to severe potential picks up on Tuesday! Unfortunately there is still a lot of uncertainty in the weather model data that has been coming in this weekend, so there are some question marks on the timing of storms and how likely the severe weather threat will materialize.
