Former MTSU guard Ta'Mia Scott, a Clarksville native, has transferred to Alabama. Scott, a first-team All-Conference USA selection, led MTSU in scoring (16.7 ppg) and was second in rebounding (6.6) and assists (1.6). MTSU finished 26-8, losing in the WBIT after reaching the NCAA Tournament the previous two seasons. Alabama went 24-9, reaching the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

AdvertisementThe 6-foot guard, a Clarksville native, was arguably the program's top player this season. Smyrna High School will name its baseball stadium after alumnus and MLB pitcher Sonny Gray. Gray, a former Vanderbilt star and Smyrna Hall of Fame inductee, is currently pitching for the St. Louis Cardinals. The 35-year-old Gray has played for multiple MLB teams and boasts a career record of 114-94. Smyrna High will bestow another honor on arguably it's most prestigious alum when it names the school's baseball stadium after Sonny Gray.
