CAMPBELL COUNTY, Va. (WSET) — Attention Campbell County drivers! There is a big tree down on Depot Road on Thursday morning and traffic is unable to get through. The tree down is where you turn onto Depot Road from English Tavern Road. The tree appears to be covered in ice and took down power lines in the area. Business owners on the downtown square say they never could’ve predicted these two events happening within the span of two weeks. “Only in Alabama would that happen,” owner of Crawford’s Gifts, Regina Crawford, said. Crawford says the past few days have been nothing short of challenging for her small business.

A Madison City School student was arrested Monday after bringing a gun to school. The Madison Police Department confirmed the 16-year-old Bob Jones High School student was charged with a minor in possession of a handgun. Madison Police Captain Cook says about 10:10 a.m. Monday school staff were notified by a parent of a handgun on school grounds. Cook says the parent's student saw another with the gun.

HENRY COUNTY, Va. (WSET) — A 25-year-old man is facing murder charges after shots rang out at a home in Henry County on Thanksgiving night. The Henry County Sheriff's Office tells us that Deputies got a report of a shooting at a house on 143 Villa Road in Ridgeway around 5:00 p.m. Thursday. When they got there, deputies found 29- year-old Marquise Waller suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Waller was pronounced dead at the scene.
