ROSEVILLE – A Roseville resident and their dogs escaped safely after a fire erupted in the garage of their home late Thursday morning, firefighters say. The Roseville Fire Department says, a little after 11 a.m., firefighters responded to the Pleasant Grove neighborhood and found smoke coming from the garage of a home. Everyone inside the home, including the homeowner's dogs, had escaped to the backyard.

SACRAMENTO – Two new clouded leopards are now calling the Sacramento Zoo home. The zoo recently announced the arrival of Serai and Rajasi. The pair has been settling into their new Sacramento Zoo home along Big Cat Row. Zookeepers say the leopards will be alternating their time in the habitat so that they get some solo time. A Clouded Leopard Party is scheduled for Saturday to celebrate the pair's arrival.

SACRAMENTO – It didn't take long for the Sacramento Kings to find a new general manager. Just hours after losing the NBA Play-In game, prompting the departure of GM Monte McNair, league sources have confirmed to CBS News Sacramento that the Kings are planning to hire Scott Perry. Perry is a longtime executive in the NBA who even had a previous stop in Sacramento back in 2017.

SACRAMENTO COUNTY – One person was taken to the hospital after a crash involving a dump truck and another vehicle on Thursday morning. The crash happened on South Watt Avenue, near Florin Road. Exactly what led up to the crash is unclear, but at least two vehicles were apparently involved – with one of the vehicles ending up with significant damage. Violent collision between dump truck and passenger vehicle has South Watt shut down between Florin Rd And Elder Creek.

NEVADA COUNTY – An investigation is underway after a fiery crash east of Nevada City that left a driver dead early Thursday morning. California Highway Patrol said, around 4 a.m., they got a report about a crash on eastbound Highway 20 east of Scotts Flat Road. Officers believe a vehicle was speeding when it veered off the road and crashed into a tree. The vehicle then caught fire, officers said. One person died in the crash, CHP confirmed.
