AbstractDelta opioid receptor (δOR) plays a pivotal role in modulating human sensation and emotion. It is an attractive target for drug discovery since, unlike Mu opioid receptor, it is associated with low risk of drug dependence. Despite its potential applications, the pharmacological properties of δOR, including the mechanisms of activation by small-molecule agonists and the complex signaling pathways it engages, as well as their relation to the potential side effects, remain poorly understood.

ResumenWe establish a new affine log-Aleksandrov–Fenchel inequality for mixed affine quermassintegrals by introducing new concepts of affine and multiple affine measures, and using the newly established Aleksandrov–Fenchel inequality for multiple mixed affine quermassintegrals. Our new inequality yields as special cases the classical Aleksandrov–Fenchel inequality and the Lp -affine log-Aleksandrov–Fenchel inequality.

AbstractProtein folding may involve folding intermediates. Ubiquitin (Ub) is a 76-residue small protein essential in post-translational modification and cell signaling. Ub is also a model system of protein folding. Previous studies have indicated the involvement of a folding intermediate, as Ub C-terminal residues, including strand β5, only dock correctly at a later stage. The natively folded Ub undergoes conformational dynamics over a vast range of timescales.
