A 38-year-old man was arrested after two security guards were assaulted at the Invercargill District Court. One of the guards sustained facial injuries. A police spokesman said the incident happened about 12.20pm on Monday. The man has been charged with common assault, injuring with intent to injure, and resisting police, the spokesman said. The man appeared in court on Monday afternoon in relation to the charges and was remanded in custody to reappear on December 19.
