AbstractPotato (Solanum tuberosum) is a staple crop important in global food security. As a leading potato producer, China faces significant challenges from insect pest infestations that compromise yield and quality. However, insect communities within Chinese potato fields remain poorly characterized. This study aimed to explore insect diversity in potato fields in Yunnan Province. From autumn 2021 to summer 2022, five Malaise traps were strategically deployed to capture insect samples.

AbstractProtein-rich diets shorten lifespan but increase fecundity in many organisms. Animals actively adjust their feeding behavior to meet their nutritional requirements. However, the neural mechanisms underlying the dynamic regulation of protein consumption remain unclear. Here we find that both sexes of fruit flies exhibit a preference for protein food before mating to prepare for reproduction.

Graphical Abstract The designed redox-active material for aqueous redox flow batteries (ARFB), lithium ferrocyanide (Li4[Fe(CN)6]), exhibits a solubility of 2.32 M, much higher than Na4[Fe(CN)6] (0.56 M) and K4[Fe(CN)6] (0.76 M). It endows the constructed [Fe(CN)6]4−-based ARFB system with high capacity up to 61.64 Ah L−1 (pH-neutral) and 56.28 Ah L−1 (alkaline) at a concentration of 2.30 M and 2.10 M cathode reactant, which is the highest value in all reported aqueous electrolytes.
