2 1/1 A social landlord has revealed plans for 22 new affordable homes on the site of a former community centre. Freebridge Community Housing has applied to redevelop the former North Lynn Community Centre, in King's Lynn. It says in a planning statement the centre on St Edmundsbury Road is "boarded up and in a state of disrepair", adding it is not suitable for conversion.

12 1/1 Tails were wagging in the sunshine at a seaside dog show. More than 100 four-legged friends hoped to woo the judges at the Hunstanton Fun Dog Show. Hundreds more turned out for the event at Glebe House School, organised by doggy paper the Barking Bugle. There were prizes for 14 classes including the prettiest girl, most handsome boy, young dog under three and veteran.

Norwich-based Longwater Gravel has been given retrospective permission for 450 panels at Coxford Abbey Quarry, between Fakenham and Docking. The array was installed on a 5,000 sqm site at the gravel working off the B1454 in April, 2024. READ MORE: New dog walking field planned for Docking A planning statement said the site could not be seen from the nearby road and its visual impact is "minimal". The site is close to the Syderstone Common SSSI.

For the flock in question is a noisy population of seagulls which roost in the tower of the village church. Neighbours say their peace is shattered from the early hours every summer by the birds' incessant screeching and cackling.

And the beauty of the old Coal Barn by the quay in Thornham, near Hunstanton, has long since captured the attention of film makers who have featured it on the silver screen. But now a council could be forced to take action after masonry collapsed, leaving the appearance of a large hole in the side of the building. Repairs to the 300-year-old structure have not been carried out, while fallen brick and rubble is now piled up on the quayside alongside the picturesque harbour.
