Syracuse, N.Y. -- Syracuse offensive lineman Willie Goodacre said on Wednesday that he will enter his name into the NCAA transfer portal and explore playing college football at another school. Goodacre announced his intention on social media. Goodacre appeared to be among a group of players competing for a spot deep on Syracuse’s second-string offensive line late in the team’s spring practice sessions. Goodacre arrived at Syracuse last year as a three-star recruit from Denton, Texas.

Syracuse, N.Y. -- Trebor Pena was apparantly worried about whether Rickie Collins would excel immediately for Syracuse. Orange head coach Fran Brown said he has no such concerns. A day after Pena entered his name into the transfer portal, apparently in part because of concern about playing with a first-time starter, Brown backed his expected starting quarterback on Wednesday during an interview on Orange Nation on ESPN Radio Syracuse. “I’m sold with Rickie,” Brown said.

Syracuse, N.Y. -- Syracuse running back Jordan Montanez, a standout during the Orange’s spring game last weekend, said he has entered his name into the NCAA transfer portalMontanez came to Syracuse as a preferred walk-on in 2024 and did not play last season. He is listed on SU’s roster at 5-foot-9 and 205 pounds. He carried the ball 14 times for 60 yards and a touchdown for SU’s second-string offense during the spring game.

Miller announced his plan on social media, while Miles’ intention was reported by On3.com’s Pete Nakos. Neither player was expected to have a substantial role with the Orange next year.
