Slowly it is being made larger as the water is shut off at times when Junction dam does not need that water to develop the proper load of power for industries it serves.

    CADILLAC — Local amateur radio operators are looking forward to a day coming up later this month like kids look forward to Christmas morning. Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has proclaimed the week of June 23-29 as Amateur Radio Week in Michigan, stating in part that “amateur radio operators have provided countless hours of community service to other local organizations throughout these decades.”The governor’s proclamation coincides with one of amateur radio’s most popular events: Field Day.

    CADILLAC — The Cadillac Area Visitors Bureau is reporting a slight uptick in rooms sold at area lodging establishments last year, bringing visitor numbers back to historical norms following a post-COVID travel surge. During the 2024-2025 season, it is projected that 96,500 rooms were sold, which is up from 93,033 last year. Last year’s tourism season saw a dip in visitors from 2022-2023, which was the biggest year in recent history, with 106,078 rooms sold.

    CADILLAC — Organizers have big plans for the 7-mile pathway around Lake Cadillac but first things first, it has to have a name. On Monday, the Cadillac City Council agreed to formally name the pathway the “Lake Cadillac Circle Tour” — an action that allows organizers to move forward with several projects intended to improve non-motorized travel along the pathway.
