LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The Vegas Golden Knights lost their second straight overtime home game. The Columbus Blue Jackets scored two unanswered goals, beating Vegas 2-1. The deciding goal came 51 seconds into overtime as Columbus forward Cole Sillinger hit the game-winner. Knights scored first, as Tomáš Hertl beat Jackets goalie Elvis Merzlikins with his 20th goal of the season and extended his point streak to 11 games, the second longest in franchise history.

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The Runnin’ Rebels felt the chill in Northern Utah, falling to Utah State 76-71. UNLV has now lost eight straight to the Aggies in Logan and nine of the last 10 at the Spectrum. Utah State went on a 13-0 first-half run, building a 16-point first-half lead before settling for a 33-24 halftime lead. In the second half, the Rebels managed to claw back, tying the game at 56 apiece with 5:50 left in the game.  UNLV falls to 11-10 on the season and 5-5 in league play.

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — UNLV didn’t get dinged by the Lobos on Saturday afternoon; they suffered a full-blown “Dent,” as in Donovan Dent. The sophomore New Mexico guard scored a Mountain West career-high 34 points as the Lobos beat the Rebels 75-73. New Mexico won its first regular season game against the Rebels in Las Vegas in six years. Dent is making a case for Mountain West player of the year as UNLV couldn’t slow down the Riverside, California native, who averages 18 points a game.

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – Break dancing is growing in popularity with more and more dancers and hip-hop artists getting involved in the sport. The recent Summer Olympic Games in Paris boosted its popularity. “Yeah, thanks to the Olympics, we got a lot of sponsorship,” Japan’s Ono Hiroto who competed in the 2024 games said. “So many breakers could live just because by breaking.” That popularity didn’t continue once the games concluded. “After the Olympics, the sponsors left,” Hiroto said.
