    April showers have spelled trouble for the township administration building in Wrightstown, but officials are taking steps to rectify things. At a recent meeting, the three-person board of supervisors that locally governs the township approved emergency repairs to the administration building’s roof, which has sprung a number of leaks that have allowed water to accumulate in lighting fixtures and ceiling tiles and then fall through to an employee’s desk and into the lobby area.

    The Upper Makefield Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to appoint Terry Fedorchak as interim township manager at a public meeting on April 1. Fedorchak’s appointment comes as Township Manager Dave Nyman officially makes the transition into the retirement he announced in December. Supervisors had hoped to have a full-time replacement in place for Nyman by now. The search, however, has not gone swimmingly. Supervisor Tim Thomas indicated supervisors received 12 resumes for the position.

In January, supervisors granted preliminary final approval to a land development plan from Suburban Equities III LLC, of Franconia Township in Montgomery County.

    At the suggestion of fire officials, Wrightstown’s local government has instituted a ban on burning activities within township borders. The three-person board of supervisors that locally governs Wrightstown approved a resolution that implements the burn ban until further notice. The approval came at a public meeting on March 10.
