Forest Road Park in Hilltown is officially off limits. Township authorities have closed the park until further notice due to geologic anomalies, including fractured bedrock within a stormwater basin, occurring on the site. In late 2024/early 2025, the township installed a fence around the fractured bedrock. Among other steps, municipal authorities have worked to have an independent geologic and geophysical study conducted.

Indian Valley Camping Center in Hilltown has the green light to build a new operating building on land it already owns — a move necessitated by a major road project from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. The elected three-person board of supervisors that locally governs Hilltown granted preliminary and final land development approval for Indian Valley to construct the 16,000-square-foot building on the approximately six-acre property on the 3400 block of Bethlehem Pike.

Wrightstown officials aren’t giving up – and that could end up being good news for township taxpayers. The elected three-person board of supervisors that locally governs Wrightstown passed a resolution on May 12 that authorizes Township Engineer Cindy VanHise to apply for a grant that could cover much of the cost of an unfunded environmental protection project the municipality is mandated to undertake.
