AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Warmer than average weather will continue for the upcoming week into next weekend. The next chance of rain in the Augusta area will be Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, when a weak cold front brings a small chance of rain to our region. Another frontal system may move into the area next weekend bringing the possibility for another chance of rain next weekend. The forecast for Easter Sunday looks great for outdoor plans.

No rain in the forecast through the weekend, so looking good for outdoor plans. Skies will be mostly cloudy Sunday. Morning lows Saturday and Sunday morning will be near 60°, about 10° above average for this time of year. Afternoon highs Saturday will be close to 90° with wind out of the south between 5-10 mph.

Widespread and possibly heavy rain with isolated severe thunderstorms are possible Sunday night into Monday as a cold front moves through the region. A FIRST ALERT has been issued for Sunday evening into early Monday for the risk of severe storms and flood risk. Friday and Saturday will be warm with highs close to 90°. Isolated showers and storms will be possible Friday afternoon/evening.

Most of us will be south of the front meaning highs will stay seasonal and it will be muggy. The front will add lift in our atmosphere and likely lead to a few hit or miss storms each afternoon. Morning lows Saturday will be in the mid-70s and dense fog will be possible around sunrise.
