Share BALTIMORE — A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for most of our area. This means that conditions are favorable for strong to severe storms to form. There are certainly some limiting factors that could win out tonight (and we are hoping for that.) But, have a plan, just in case. Our watch goes until midnight tonight and is in every county in our area, except Cecil.

BALTIMORE - We are set to end April on a very warm note. Temperatures will quickly climb into the 80s most of this week. This will be "rare air" with high temperatures running 10 to 15 degrees above average for this time of year. We will be close to record highs a few days, but this time of year you have to get to the 90s to break records. The image above is a snapshot of Tuesday with temps in the 80s.

BALTIMORE - Temperatures get warmer heading into the work week. We jump to near 70° by the afternoon. Monday morning will feature some really spotty rain, but most of that will move out by the morning commute. Monday afternoon looks dry, but that changes by the evening. A line of storms and showers works in. Some storms could be strong to severe with damaging wind being the main concern. This severe chance is on the low end, but not zero. Breezy winds are back Tuesday in the wake of that rain.

BALTIMORE - Spring is marked by showers and we need a lot of rain! It has been a dry stretch this year. We, so far (April 6th) have seen 7.17" of precip. That is 3.51 inches below average (year to date). Normally we would have seen 10.68 inches so far. That average is based off of the past 30 years. What makes that worse is that we came into this year under drought conditions. It will be an active week with multiple rain chances, so here is to hoping we can get more showers to curb this deficit.

Share BALTIMORE — Our active pattern brings another chance for storms into Thursday. Some could be strong to even severe. You can see above our area is mostly under a level 2 out of 5 for severe weather. The eastern shore is largely under a level 1 out of 5. There is hope that these storms weaken as they get closer, but don't drop your guard. Thursday starts off cloudy and warm with temperatures in the 50s.

Happy spring! I noticed these wild daffodils popped up behind the station. https://t.co/YrBXveAwfF

Wind gusts today have been incredibly strong. There is still a high wind warning in place until 10 pm. We had to do the newscast on generator. There are a lot of power flashes and outages. Winds will be a bit better tomorrow, but still strong. https://t.co/DhQKskQlSr
