A popular convenience store chain is prepping a new location in Lexington County. Circle K, which has locations across the the U.S. and many stores in the Midlands, is planning a new location in the 5904 Platt Springs Road, at the corner of Platt Springs and Kyzer roads. That’s about a mile southwest of White Knoll High School. Lexington County property tax records indicate that Circle K bought the property at 5904 Platt Springs Road in December. Earlier this month Circle K Stores Inc.

Those in the Red Bank area of Lexington are about to have a new spot to fill their burrito cravings. Chipotle Mexican Grill, a well-known chain with locations nationwide, will open a new restaurant on Wednesday, April 16 at 5456 Platt Springs Road, according to an email from the company. Everyone’s life journey is, in certain ways, sort of like an elaborate stage play. At one point or another there is usually always drama or romance or intrigue. There is plenty of dialogue, humor, breakups, makeups, sadness and rejoicing. And each of our personal stage plays across this life includes a rotating cast of characters. We each have main characters — parents, spouses, siblings, the closest friends. Those are the ones who share the stage with us for huge chunks or nearly all of our journey.

Authorities are still seeking a suspect in a hit-and-run crash that killed a Midlands bicyclist. The SC Highway Patrol said in an April 11 social media post that it is seeking information about the fatal hit-and-run that happened shortly after 3 a.m. on April 3 on U.S. 321, south of the town of North in Orangeburg County. Carey Carr, 46, of Neeses, was riding a bicycle that morning when she was struck and killed.
