South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson tells WACH Fox that the challenges they are facing with A-I are similar to when the internet first came around in the 1990’s. He explained that the current laws are out of date and need to change. “The bad guys are finding ways to utilize the gaps and the loopholes in the laws as they are currently written.” said Wilson.

Sheriff Leon Lott is urging parents of any of the young people thought to be involved in both of those shootings to turn them in or they will be going to jail as well. Other local leaders say something else also has to be done. This afternoon, Wach Fox talked with Columbia City Councilman Tyler Bailey about what can be done to stop these things from happening and bailey says parents, need to reach young people way before they ever to high school.

An effort at the state house that has been years in the making is a step closer to making South Carolina's streets safer. Lawmakers in the House proposed a plan that would ban using a cell phone while driving. On Wednesday, that plan was passed in the house and moved to the senate. If it becomes the law, South Carolina would join 32 other states that have already implemented a law like this.
