The Marshalltown Police Department says an investigation started in January of 2024, on the possibility of a person possessing child pornography. A search warrant was issued for the suspect's home and evidence was seized about a month later.

South Hardin Schools Superintendent Adam Zellmer said it happened during a fire drill on Friday morning at Eldora-New Providence elementary school, when the teacher was working one-on-one with the student. He says the teacher sustained injuries, and received medical attention. No word on the condition of the staffer or age and grade of the student.
