(WVUE) - A Jefferson Parish judge sentenced Bunnak “Hannah” Landon to life in prison without parole Tuesday (May 6), less than a week after a jury found her guilty of murdering six-year-old Bella Fontenelle and dumping her body in a bucket outside her mother’s home. GRETNA, La. (WVUE) - With a difference of nearly 1,800 votes, Jefferson Parish voters elected Tim Kerner Jr. as the next councilman of District One. Kerner vows to bring a fresh start to the west bank. The special election to fill the District One seat was contentious, knocking out political rival Ricky Templet in the primary and ultimately political newcomer Andrea Manuel in the runoff. “I’m going to work as hard as I possibly can,” Kerner said.

KENNER, La. (WVUE) - Police have upgraded charges against Rickey White in the death of Kansas City sports reporter Adan Manzano, who was found dead in a Kenner hotel room days before Super Bowl LIX. Kenner Police announced Monday (May 5) that White, originally booked on fraud and theft-related charges, now faces second-degree murder in Manzano’s death. White remains in custody at the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center.
