MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — A Mobile woman received a shocking phone call from her children on Memorial Day. A house fire on Serigny Drive on Monday, May 26, left nothing salvageable for one Mobile family, according to homeowner Emily Gilmore. (WKRG News 5)Gilmore said her family has lived in the home for about a year. Her children were inside when the fire started, and she was not. “They told me, ‘Mama, the house is on fire.’ But by the time I got here, everyone was out,” Gilmore told News 5.

CHICKASAW, Ala. (WKRG) — A body has been found inside a submerged car near Memorial Bridge, News 5 has learned. Officials said the car was spotted in the lake near U.S. 43 on Memorial Bridge, about 3 miles north of Chickasaw City Hall. The road is currently blocked off as crews work to pull the vehicle out of the lake. Officials confirmed to News 5 that a body was found inside the submerged vehicle.
