CLARKE COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) — The Clarke County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the shooting deaths of three people, News 5 has learned. Sheriff’s deputies reportedly arrived around 8 a.m. Sunday to a home on Old Line Road in the Whatley community, west of Grove Hill. There, deputies found three people, including a man, a woman, and a child, dead. Another child was found shot and was taken to the hospital, where they are in critical condition, according to the sheriff.

UPDATE (Feb. 13, 3:20 p.m.): We are continuing to learn more information about a truck found in Shepherds Lake Wednesday. Police told News 5 that the truck was located near the end of Shepherds Lake Road. “[Fishermen] were able to actually see the top of it,” Mount Vernon Police Chief Eric Pettway said. Pettway said the pickup could be related to a case from 10 years ago, when officers found a body in Shepherds Lake. There were no suspects in that case.

MOUNT VERNON, Ala. (WKRG) — A truck was found submerged in Sheppard Lake Wednesday afternoon, according to the Mount Vernon Police Department. MVPD officials said they called the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office to help assist in the investigation. Officials said deputies arrived on the scene to help locate and raise the vehicle, but due to the weather conditions, they were unable to. Deputies plan to try again on Thursday morning to recover the truck, according to officials.

WILMER, Ala. (WKRG) — A man was killed in a Wilmer house fire Monday morning, according to Wilmer Volunteer Fire Chief Charles Harvey. Harvey said the man was 82 years old, and the fire occurred at 12461 Wilmer Farm Road around 9:13 a.m. Monday. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. Mobile County deputies have been on the scene all day. No foul is suspected at this time. Harvey said the home was destroyed in the fire. A News 5 crew is heading to the scene. UPDATE (11:25 a.m.): News 5 has learned more about a low-speed chase that happened this morning on Interstate 10. A man allegedly stole a Kubota skid steer and led local law enforcement in a chase on I-10 eastbound, according to officials. The driver then allegedly turned around and headed west in eastbound lanes. The chase reportedly ended at the exit 15B on-ramp.

(WKRG) — A George County couple died in a house fire Thursday night, according to George County Emergency Management. The fire happened around 10:15 p.m. on Jan. 9 in the Barton Community of George County, which is south of Lucedale. The house is located on Buckley Road off of Barton Agricola Road.
