BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects there will be 3.3 million registered nurses in 2032. In the Baton Rouge area, the Baton Rouge General School of Nursing is seeing an increase in graduates. The Baton Rouge General School of Nursing has been in the community since 1965. Since then, they have been cranking out graduates. The school even holds two commencement ceremonies for graduates.

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and BRProud is highlighting a new support group for breast cancer patients. The group is a joint venture between Mary Bird Perkins and Baton Rouge General. “I’ve seen cancer in my family, my mother died of cancer,” said Janice Walter, breast cancer survivor. Walter is a participant in the new group. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2023.
