    Atlantic editor Jeffrey Goldberg published many of the text messages in a story posted online Monday. Goldberg wrote that he did not know why he had been added to the conversation, which he said took place with “shocking recklessness.” The National Security Council said in a statement to the magazine that the thread appeared to be authentic.     The price of eggs has risen by nearly 50 percent in the Boston area since the fall, data show, driven by a deadly bird flu outbreak adding to already-high prices all over the supermarket.
