The Queensland Office of the Inspector-General of Emergency Management has found a litany of communication and warning system problems during the 2023-24 severe weather season. Communities were left feeling abandoned and frustrated after not being able to contact emergency services. Nine recommendations have been made including a whole-of-state training and exercise strategy, and warning strategy.
