As the school half-term arrives, Ofsted's top man, Sir Martyn Oliver, has sparked a discussion by suggesting a rethink on the lengthy summer school break for students. The UK's prime educational overseer noted that children are in school for just 190 out of 365 days annually once school holidays and teacher training days are accounted for, which adds up to scarcely over half the year at 52%.
