A wave of tributes have been left for people from Plymouth or those with links to the city who have died recently. The heartfelt messages appeared in the funeral notices section of PlymouthLive's sister title, The Herald, with 16 funeral notices left for people who either lived in the city, or had links to it and have died recently. The messages, placed between April 19 and April 25, provide comfort to the loved ones of those either lost or being celebrated. There were also four memoriams.

The Eden Project has come under fire over Northern Irish hip hop group Kneecap's upcoming performance in Cornwall. It comes amid concerns raised over the group’s political messaging which have led to some claiming they “support terrorists”. The group, comprising of Móglaí Bap, Mo Chara, and DJ Próvaí, are set to play their first Cornish show at the Eden Project’s Eden Sessions on July 4.

Drivers in north Cornwall are set to face a lengthy diversion as roadworks are carried out on busy A-road near Camelford. A nearly 50-mile diversion route will be put in place while utility works take place. It comes as South West Water plans to undertake the repair and maintenance works along the A39 Victoria Road in Camelford next month. The road closure will be in place for 24 hours a day, including weekends, from May 6 to May 16.

The owners of a popular beachfront hotel in Cornwall which featured on Channel 4 have announced they will be leaving the business as it is taken in a “different direction”. The team behind Newquay Beach Hotel said the restaurant will be taken over by a franchise and all of the staff will “move on”. The announcement comes just over a month after the family-run hotel featured on Channel 4's hit series Four in a Bed.

A 19 year old from the Westcountry was dealt a shocking blow when she was diagnosed with an extremely rare form of cancer, a Wilms tumour, just weeks before embarking on her university journey. What initially presented as persistent stomach discomfort and bloating, led to this unforeseen diagnosis in September 2024. Now 20, Becca Emes, a resident of St Ives, discovered that she was suffering from stage four kidney cancer.
