GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - You may have noticed a new addition to Alachua County Fire Rescue Station 23 on the road. The department designed and built a brand-new rescue and trench trailer. It’s designed to help fire rescue crews respond to building collapses and trench rescues. While responding to a call that requires the trailer is rare, the county is now almost completely self-sufficient, being able to respond to calls without needing extra help.

LAWTEY, Fla. (WCJB) - What started as a routine medical call turned into a gift from strangers. A woman from Lawtey can now comfortably get from her front porch to her yard, a part of most of our everyday lives we take for granted. “It was dangerous. I was afraid that somebody was going to get hurt out here,” said Nancy Moody, a Lawtey resident. Nancy Moody and her son Michael need to use wheelchairs to get around. Inside her home, she has no issues.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - Thousands of passengers still feel the impacts of Friday’s fire at Jacksonville International Airport. If you parked your car in the hourly parking garage, officials said there is no timetable for when you can access it. Additionally, new passengers cannot park in the garage or nearby lots like the economy or daily garage. Officials recommend if you need to fly out of JAX, you park offsite and get a ride to the terminal. Parking onsite is extremely limited.

STARKE, Fla. (WCJB) - Facing a number of uncertainties, the Bradford County Fair now has a new board. County commissioners decided to expand the process to include applicants who originally had not made the cut. Iana Patterson was one of nine people searching for the new Bradford County Fair Board. She said she was initially displeased with the process of narrowing 21 applicants down to 16. “I really felt like we did not use unbiased judgment as far as selecting applicants.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - A speed limit sign in Gainesville’s Kanapaha Pines Neighborhood has some up in arms, and others doubling down on why someone put it up to begin with. In a 30-mph zone, residents of one Gainesville neighborhood said they see cars going a lot faster, prompting one person to put up four of these signs across the area. “This road is the only road close by that does not have speed bumps.
