GENERAL practice is under the cosh and it has been for some time. But it’s now more apparent than ever. The main drivers are virtually unmanageable workload and a workforce that simply can’t keep up with demand — but there’s a lot of facets to all of that. I am usually in my GP surgery at about 7.30am and leave at six o’clock at night. A lunch break is a luxury. Those longer hours and the inability to really take breaks and to step away is one reason for burnout.

HUNDREDS of music fans formed a massive queue outside HMV to meet Twenty One Pilots. The US rock duo signed posters and mingled with supporters at the Glasgow Argyle Street branch ahead of their OVO Hydro show tonight. Some wacky yet wonderful outfits were on display as folk paid homage to their heroes' typical black and red theme. Security were in good spirits after sharing a laugh with the large crowd of people as the line extended all the way to JD Sports a few doors down.
