The County Grand Orange Lodge of Ayrshire, Renfrewshire and Argyll has submitted a notice to North Ayrshire Council to hold a public procession in Kilbirnie on Saturday, June 28. The event has been organised to celebrate the 335th anniversary of the Battle of the Boyne. Between 2,500 and 3,000 walkers are expected to attend the event.

It comes as details are revealed for Scotland's first-ever 'Veterans Day' celebration to take place in the town.
