Drew McKenzie described David Roach as "a great ambassador for Inverclyde". Mr Roach served as a councillor in the area for 27 years, first on the old Inverclyde District Council and then on Inverclyde Council following local government reorganisation in the mid-1990s. He was also the area's Provost from 1999 until 2003.

(Image: Contributed) AN INVERCLYDE Scout leader has raised thousands of pounds for charity by completing the London Marathon. Colin Peters, lead volunteer with the 45th Inverclyde group, took part in the race on April 26 to raise cash for Pancreatic Cancer UK. It was Colin's first ever marathon and proved to be a roaring success, with more than £6,000 raised at the event.
