4 P.M. UPDATE: WCIA has confirmed this is not Dunyahn’s first time stealing a vehicle. Madison County court records show Dunyahn pleaded guilty to one count of attempted vehicular invasion in Dec. 2024. The incident happened in 2022, where he tried to enter a Chey Traverse with a crowbar in Edwardsville. As a part of the plea deal, he faces 30 months in probation. He was also ordered to face drug treatment. An HSHS spokesperson told WCIA they are “deferring” any statement on the matter to police.

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (NEXSTAR) — The sponsor of the controversial bill to regulate homeschooling in Illinois did not call the bill for a vote Friday ahead of the crucial deadline in the House. “Protecting our children is a moral imperative,” Bill sponsor Rep. Terra Costa Howard said on the floor Friday. “Thirty-eight states care enough about these kids to make sure they’re okay. We are an outlier to the victims who are out there. We see you.

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (NEXSTAR) — The Illinois Senate passed a bill that would prevent carbon sequestration projects from being built around the Mahomet Aquifer. The bill had bipartisan support in the Senate, and the House has a separate bill that accomplishes the same goal. That bill — sponsored by Urbana Democrat Representative Carol Ammons — has bipartisan support, too. “Our communities rely on the Mahomet Aquifer for safe, clean drinking water – there is no backup plan,” Sen.

"It's getting BATTY in the Capitol" -@Alex_Degman There's a bat loose in the Capitol and it really likes the hall of Governor's portraits. It ignored the other obvious pun, though. It landed on Big Jim Thompson's portrait instead of Bruce Rauner's https://t.co/tUWFOZe2tz

This agreement between the county and the DOJ is just that -- an agreement. This is no mandate. There is no consent decree, and there is absolutely no teeth to it It just says if the DOJ finds the county is violating the deal, they will work to resolve the issue "in good faith"

The DOJ and Sangamon Co. reached an agreement that ends the investigation into the office. It started after former Deputy Sean Grayson shot and killed Sonya Massey in her home after she called 911. The DOJ found no evidence of discriminatory practices. https://t.co/jBupzkYvrx
