The club are on course for their worst league finish since 1973-74, the season they were relegated to the old Second Division. They are just above the relegation zone, and though they are safe from the drop they have been exposed to scrutiny and criticism all season long for what has been the worst season many fans can remember.

O’FALLON, Mo. — The Mississippi University for Women baseball team saw its postseason run come to an end on Saturday, falling 13-5 to Webster University in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship series. The Owls, 21-17, entered the SLIAC tournament as the No. 2 seed with a 14-4 conference record.

The Mississippi University for Women baseball team is still alive in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament after defeating Westminster College on Friday. It was an elimination game following an 18-4 defeat to No. 3 seed Spalding University on Thursday. The first game turned into a bit of a shootout in the first few innings, as the Owls trailed 5-4 after the first three innings, but Spalding opened up the game down the stretch after a seven-run showing in the sixth inning.

The Mississippi University for Women softball team made a fast start to the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament this week, taking down Westminster College, 8-2, in the quarterfinals on Tuesday and continuing with a 4-2 win over No. 2 seed Greenville University on Thursday. The Owls lost 4-2 on Friday to No. 1 Spalding University, striking out nine times against the hosts and setting up a rematch with Greenville with a berth in the championship game on the line.
