CALUMET, Mich. (WLUC) - Multiple construction projects are ongoing in Calumet. One of the most visible of these projects is the ‘Green Space’ between Fifth and Sixth streets. “(We’re) taking a vacant property and turning it into a place where people feel safe to come with their families and hang out and eat ice cream or have a picnic,” Calumet Village Manager Megan Haselden said. The space will feature streetlights, gabion walls and a bandshell for live music.

HANCOCK, Mich. (WLUC) - You have only one day left to register for a special film class in Hancock next month. The Copper Country Community Arts Center is offering a four-session class in stop-motion filmmaking in June. Only children between the ages of six and 14 can sign up. You can create props and learn how to use them to animate your own stop-motion clips. “I’m going to try and teach them to do it so they can do it at home,” Michigan Tech University Professor and Filmmaker Ian Raymond said.
