Electric bikes or e-bikes, are becoming increasingly popular, and while they are a fun, lower impact way to get exercise or get somewhere, more riders on the road means more accidents. On June 10, Julia Lynn Kalthof, 65, of Palm Coast, was charged with reckless driving and aggravated assault for steering her car onto a walking path so she could follow a 14-year-old she believed was speeding. The teen said he was only doing about 20 mph on Pine Lakes Parkway and was scared the woman might hit him.

The Commerce Parkway project in Flagler County is nearing completion, with an anticipated opening date of sometime in September. The newly constructed roadway will connect State Road 100 and U.S. 1 in Bunnell. Not only will it serve as a shortcut for drivers, as well as first responders, it will also open previously landlocked properties for commerce as well as residential growth. The corridor has been in the planning stages for nearly 20 years.

Charges against Paul Wert for obstructing an officer were dropped after he was arrested while waiting for a ride home. Officer Daniel Rippeon, who made the arrest, has been "separated" from the Edgewater Police Department. Rippeon, a former "Hometown Hero," has a military background and served in other police departments. After video was released of an Edgewater Police officer arresting a CVS employee who was waiting for a ride home after his shift, more developments continue to unfold.
