Ryan Preece, who crossed the finish line in second place was DQ’d due to a spoiler infraction. Specifically, the car was found to have three shims instead of two on its spoiler.

Running side-by-side with Austin Cindric on his inside, Preece lost the drag race to the line, as the 500-miler ended by 0.022 in Cindric’s favor. “I feel like we did everything right today. We just needed that little bit,” Preece said.

The result came after minutes of NASCAR reviewing the time of caution when race leader Connor Zilisch got turned and plowed the inside backstretch wall. Burton was three-wide for the lead with Austin Hill and Jesse Love. And though Burton was confident he was a nose ahead, NASCAR found Hill to be the leader at the caution light, granting him the victory.
