    LAWTON, Okla. (KSWO) - There are several road and lane closures across Lawton due to road construction and other projects. From roadwork, to waterline replacement, to a pedestrian bridge being added, you don’t have to look far to see orange traffic cones and roadwork signs in Lawton. “We just ask that as we further east into Rogers Lane, that motorists just exercise patience with us as we’re out here working,” said Bryce Lawson, resident engineer with ODOT.

    LAWTON, Okla. (KSWO) - Monday, Aug. 19, is the first day of training for the cadets attending the academy for the Lawton Police Department. LPD Academy Coordinator Sgt. Timothy Jenkins said among all applicants who went through the PT Assessment test, written test, interviews, and a polygraph test, only 14 became cadets. These 14 cadets will go through more training in defense tactics, firearms, and ethics to name a few. “It is going to be a great process,” Sgt. Jenkins said.

    WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KSWO) - Construction began Monday, Aug. 19, on Kemp Boulevard in Wichita Falls. Construction is taking place on Kemp Boulevard between Midwestern Parkway and Quill Street.     TILLMAN CO., Okla. (KSWO) - The Tillman County Commissioners have issued a county-wide burn ban. The ban was issued due to the extreme fire danger risk in the county. The ban is set to last 14 days, during which people aren’t allowed to have grass, forest, or range fires. It also prohibits campfires, bonfires, the burning of trash and fireworks.
