(KSWO) - One of the first actions taken in the Lawton City Council meeting included a proclamation to declare a civil emergency due to the severe weather, which caused flooding waters through Southwest Oklahoma. This proclamation will allow the city to look at federal and state relief dollars. Moving on, councilmembers passed the consent agenda with the exceptions of pulling items 29 and 31 for discussion.

    KEITHVILLE, La. (KSLA/Gray News) – The mother of a 2-year-old girl who was killed in a murder-suicide that left three others dead is at a loss for why it happened. Kara Hanning, the mom of 2-year-old Adalynn Mae Sadler, said she wouldn’t wish this tragedy on anybody. On May 5, the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office was called out to a home in Keithville, Louisiana, to do a welfare check. When deputies got there, they said Adalynn’s grandfather, 60-year-old Leroy Sadler, refused to communicate with them.

Graduation ceremonies took place on Saturday and among those who turned their tassels was a father and his daughter, who are now members of the class of 2025.
