Governor Whitmer has declared a state of emergency in northern Michigan following this weekend’s ice storm.

This morning, I declared a state of emergency to get help out the door as fast as possible for Michiganders impacted by the ice storm. Yesterday, I activated our State Emergency Operations Center to coordinate our response, and State and local emergency teams are on the ground.

Consumers Energy tells News 10 they have 300 crews working to restore power after the ice storm in northern Michigan and 300 crews downstate to restore power after Sunday’s severe weather.
