No, it’s not a true crime podcast: This is a graded project at Washington State University. Students in Entomology 103 are using forensic entomology techniques to solve the mystery this week for an assignment. Next week, the rest of the WSU community can also participate.

    Undergraduate research from across Washington State University is now on display year-round in the Terrell and Owens Libraries’ new Undergraduate Research Halls. Visitors will be able to view a wide variety of research projects by students who presented at last March’s Showcase for Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities. A grand opening for the space is planned from 3:30-5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, in the Terrell Library atrium.

    Faculty and staff who carry a spouse or state-registered domestic partner on their WSU medical insurance coverage may be subject to a spousal premium surcharge. Certain program participants are required to re-attest each year to determine if they are subject to this surcharge. If you need to re-attest you will need to do so during the Open Enrollment period, Oct. 28–Nov. 25. You can complete your attestation through the Open Enrollment Change item in your Workday inbox.

    As Veterans Day approached, pharmacy student Ashley Aday reflected on the lessons learned from her military service. Aday’s time in the U.S. Army led her first to Afghanistan and inspired her to pursue a pharmacy career. Now a student at Washington State University, she recently received a scholarship established by Steven and Natalie-Stewart Smith, two alumni who also served in the U.S. Army as commissioned officers.
