A South Belfast man has raised tens of thousands of pounds in a matter of weeks following a devastating cancer diagnosis. Matthew Starkey was diagnosed with stage four cancer earlier this year after a large tumour was found through his spinal cord, which cannot be fully removed due to its location. He has been told that the cancer is likely to be incurable and is no longer able to walk unaided.

A fundraiser has been launched to support the family of Belfast barber Jay Millar who is currently in intensive care after being put in an induced coma. The popular barber suffered a head injury after falling following a seizure at his home on April 20 and has since been admitted to hospital. Jay, who runs the busy Jay's Barber Club in North Belfast is well known throughout the city for supporting the vulnerable and those in need.

A woman has died following a three vehicle collision on Portaferry Road this morning. The emergency services were called to the collision outside Newtownards at around 10.20am on Friday, April 25, after a red coloured lorry travelling towards Greyabbey collided with a silver Citroen Berlingo people carrier and a white Audi A3 car travelling in the direction of Newtownards. Sadly a woman in her 60s, who was a passenger in the Citroen, died at the scene from her injuries.

Parents in Bangor have been asked to talk to their children following multiple reports of young people involved in anti-social behaviour in the city centre. On Tuesday, April 22, police received reports of criminal damag in a commercial premises in the Castle Street area, followed by a report of young people involved in anti-social behaviour the following day on April 23 at a licensed premises in Bingham Mall.

Residents of a Lisburn housing development say they feel "disappointed" and "let down" by their housing association and the police after a number of them received threats and "unwanted" flags were erected on lampposts. On Saturday, April 19, a group of men entered Altona Drive and Altona Gardens, which are part of a Choice Housing development, and put up Union Flags on the lampposts through it, despite the majority of local residents saying they did not want the flags there.
